Cornwall, ON – Businesses in Cornwall, SDG and Akwesasne can now access financing through CANtrade.
CANtrade financing can support a range of business priorities, including: increasing production capacity, strengthening supply chains, improving operational efficiencies, investing in technology and talent, expanding into new Canadian or international markets and diversifying revenue streams.
“Given the current trade environment, we believe CANtrade will be a valuable addition to the financing options available to businesses across Akwesasne, Cornwall and the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry,” says Denis Lapierre, Executive Director of ACCFutures.
Qualifying businesses can access financing from $5,000 to $150,000, with flexible repayment terms and interest-only payments available for the first six months.
The program is intended to support businesses undertaking activities such as:
- Expanding into new markets within Canada or internationally
- Diversifying or strengthening supply chains
- Increasing production capacity
- Investing in technology and operational efficiencies
- Stabilizing working capital
- Responding to tariff-related pressures
- Pursuing new business development and marketing opportunities
- Adapting products or services for new markets, including certification, testing, labelling and other localization costs
The CANtrade initiative is delivered through the Community Futures Program, supported by the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario). It is intended for viable, established businesses ready to make strategic investments in their future.
