Cornwall Ontario – Pet owners have a new option for animal rehabilitation in Cornwall and SDG. Sophie Malo has opened a physical location of Playbow Animal Rehab Clinic (PARC) in South Lancaster after a year of offering a mobile service.
“The saying ‘my dog is just getting old’ is the past, with new research and evidence coming to light everyday there is more and more we can do for our pets to help them live a long and healthy life,” says Sophie Malo, owner of PARC.
PARC provides physical rehabilitation services to animals in the area. Sophie is dedicated to helping pets live a healthier longer life, returning them to function, sport or leisurely activities with the help of evidence based non-invasive therapies and treatments such as laser therapy, manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, hydrotherapy on an underwater treadmill and more.
As a recent Starter Company Plus graduate, the Cornwall Business Enterprise Centre is happy to support PARC as the only facility in the region offering formal animal rehabilitation, otherwise people have to travel to either Ottawa or Montreal to seek similar services for their pet. The clinic works on a veterinarian referral basis.
Sophie started her career as a Kinesiologist in the human rehabilitation field and has since pursued further studies through the University of Tennessee to obtain her CCRP certificate (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner) where she has found her true calling. Sophie has been in the animal rehabilitation world for just over four years now.
Check out PARC at the Unleashed Pet Festival event happening in Cornwall on June 3rd.
PARC is located at 20339 Andrea Avenue, South Lancaster and is accepting new patients five days a week. Sophie can be reached by phone at 613-293-7076, by email to info@playbowanimalrehab.com.
