Cornwall, ON – The Township of North Stormont, in partnership with the Cornwall SDG Business Enterprise Centre (CBEC), will host a Breakfast Connections event on September 24, 2026. The event will bring together local business owners, entrepreneurs, and community representatives for a morning of networking and business-related discussions.

The event will feature keynote speaker André Laflèche, who will share perspectives from his entrepreneurial journey. Laflèche often says, “You need to be a little crazy to start a business,” reflecting the risks and challenges associated with entrepreneurship. His presentation will also explore the role that mentors, peers, business partners, and community supporters can play in helping entrepreneurs navigate those challenges and achieve long-term success.

“Entrepreneurs are the backbone of our community. They create jobs, drive innovation, and help build the vibrant local economy that makes North Stormont such a good place to grow”, says Tara Krikpatrick, Economic Development and Community Engagement Officer for The Township of North Stormont. “We are thrilled to welcome local industry leader André Laflèche to our Business Breakfast. With more than 60 years of experience launching, growing, and sustaining successful businesses throughout North Stormont and the surrounding region, André brings a wealth of knowledge and real-world insight. His story reflects both the challenges and rewards of turning an idea into a thriving enterprise, and we are excited for local entrepreneurs and business owners to learn from his remarkable journey.”

In addition to the keynote address, attendees will hear from Sara MacDonald, owner of Sunshine Studio Moose Creek and a past participant in the Starter Company Plus program. MacDonald will discuss her experience launching and growing her business and the support she received through the program.

The breakfast will also include information about programs and services available through the Cornwall SDG Business Enterprise Centre for entrepreneurs and small business owners throughout Cornwall, SDG Counties, and Akwesasne.
