Cornwall, Ontario – A new float spa has opened its doors in Cornwall.
True REST Float Spa has opened its first Canadian location in the Seaway Centre at 1400 Vincent Massey Drive.
Owners and operators Tim and Marie-Pier Tremblay are excited to introduce the new service to both local residents and visitors to the city.
Marie-Pier said floatation therapy offers numerous mental and physical benefits including reduced stress, increased blood circulation, pain management and sleep schedule maintenance, among others.
“It’s going to bring so much benefit to people,” said Marie-Pier.
The fully-accessible spa features four floatation tanks set in private suites so users can expect a safe and private experience on their own. The large floatation tanks are filled with salt water, providing a low-gravity environment for clients to float – and relax their minds and bodies.
Float sessions are generally an hour in duration, and the tanks have various light and music settings should the client prefer that over silence and darkness. For overall safety, the units have three layers of disinfection for the water, and each unit is disinfected after each use.
“The water is filtered and disinfected three times between each client,” said Tim. “They have a higher (salt water) density than the Dead Sea, and nothing lives in the Dead Sea.”
In addition to the floatation tanks, the spa will feature an Oasis Room where visitors will be able to extend their experience with an oxygen bar and space for quiet relaxation and reflection.
The new spa, with a complement of 6 staff members, expects to serve clients from not just Cornwall and SDG Counties but outlying communities such as Valleyfield, Vaudreuil, Brockville, Massena and beyond.
“There is no other similar service in the area,” Tim added.
