Cornwall, ON – The Cornwall SDG Business Enterprise Centre and Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce are thrilled to announce their partnership with BDC Canada to host the International Women’s Day Luncheon on March 7, 2024. The event will take place at the Ramada Cornwall, with doors opening at 11:30 am and the main program running from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm.

The International Women’s Day Luncheon aims to celebrate the achievements of women entrepreneurs and provide support for women-owned businesses in the region. As a free event, it offers a unique opportunity for women entrepreneurs to network, gain insights, and be inspired by successful industry leaders.

“Supporting women-owned businesses is crucial for the economic growth of our community. We believe that by providing resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities, we can help women entrepreneurs thrive. We encourage all women business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs to join us for this inspiring event,” said Shauna Baggs, Cornwall SDG Business Enterprise Centre.

The special high tea lunch will feature guest speaker, Isabelle Hudson, President and CEO of BDC. With her extensive experience in the business world, including serving as Ambassador of Canda to France and Monaco and holding the positions of President and CEO (Quebec) and Senior Vice President (Canada) of Sun Life Financial, Ms. Huon will share her insights and wisdom, empowering women entrepreneurs and encouraging them to reach new heights.

“Bringing women together, activating our networks and embracing ambition to reach new heights: there is no better way to mark International Women’s Day. I look forward to meeting women entrepreneurs from Cornwall to discuss how BDC can support more of them to succeed with their businesses,” said Isabelle Hudon.

“As a woman entrepreneur myself, I understand the challenges and triumphs that come with running a business. This luncheon is a fantastic opportunity for women in our community to connect, learn, and empower one another,” said Angela Bero, General Manager of the Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce.

The International Women’s Day Luncheon is open to all women entrepreneurs, business professionals, and individuals interested in supporting women-owned businesses.
