Bijou Box was created by Tavish Mason, a high school student who wanted to create an online shop to make customized silver jewelry. His vision was to create a place where people could order personalized jewelry online instead of going to a physical location.

At Bijou Box, the creative process begins by discussing the design process with clients and taking notes on how the they would like their jewellery to look. He then shows the clients the design and makes sure they are satisfied before moving onto the next stage in manufacturing.

Once the client approves the design, Tavish then 3-D prints the unique moulds and pours the silver himself, creating a one-of-a kind piece based on client feedback. The newly designed piece is then shipped to customers.

“Making a business is not as easy as it sounds, it takes hours to build website, and that is just part of it,” Tavish Mason, explained.

As a participant in the Summer Company program, Tavish has been working with the Cornwall Business Enterprise Centre in developing his business plan and furthering his education on the different aspects of running a business.
