Cornwall, ON – Cornwall’s newest sweet spot, Maverick’s Donuts, has officially opened its doors! The highly anticipated donut shop had a successful soft opening on August 2nd and is already delighting customers with its delicious treats. While a grand opening party is in the works for September, you can get your hands on their gourmet donuts now.  

Located at 841 Sydney Street, Unit 9, Maverick’s is open seven days a week from 7am to 7pm. The new shop promises to bring a fresh, artisan take on the classic treat that has made the franchise a favourite across Ontario. They are known for their wide array of creative and delicious donuts, from classic flavours to unique, signature creations. Customers can expect to see some of the brand’s most popular items, such as the Maple Bacon Donut, the Oreo Nirvana, and the Lemon Ricotta, among many others. They also offer a variety of vegan options and fritters, so there’s truly something for everyone to enjoy alongside their fresh coffee, also served in-house. 

The new Cornwall location is owned and operated by a local team, Jean-François (JF) Leduc, Jerry Welsh, and Tammy Lévesque. “We are excited to be part of the Cornwall community and offer a different take on a classic treat,” Tammy shared. The team also has a special connection to the brand. JF was introduced to the founder of Maverick’s Donuts three years ago by a good friend who passed away in June. After several meetings, JF and Jerry decided to invest in the franchise, making Cornwall home to the first Maverick’s Donuts in Eastern Ontario. They now have a special dedication plaque to JF’s friend in the store. 

The shop’s arrival is a welcome addition to the city’s food scene, providing a dedicated destination for gourmet donuts and coffee. With its focus on fresh, handmade products, Maverick’s is set to become a go-to spot for a morning coffee run, a decadent afternoon treat, or a special occasion. The store is also expected to be available on popular delivery apps, making it even easier for residents to get their hands on a delicious donut.
