Cornwall, ON – The weather has finally turned, phase 2 has begun, and camping season is opening.
It’s safe to say we’re all excited to enjoy the simple things we used to take for granted. Some are just as eager to welcome customers to their new business. Sandy Moon and Bob Wight recently opened Relic Outfitters located at 15010 Colonial Drive in Ingleside, Ontario, just across the road from the St. Lawrence Parks entrance on Highway #2. Both have been enjoying the outdoors for years, and are excited to share their expertise and experiences with others to make venturing into the wilds enjoyable, rewarding and safe.
Relic Outfitters is a year-round equipment and resource centre for a range of outdoor activities in the St. Lawrence region. Relic stocks both new and used equipment to provide a wider range of price points to their customers while diverting quality items from landfills.
Due to the timing of the store opening, Moon and Wight had to adjust their business plan to accommodate the changes and restrictions related to COVID-19.
“We had to adjust our business plan slightly in light of this year’s unprecedented situation and have started with a focus on fishing”, says Sandy Moon. “Although fishing has been our main focus to date, we would like people to know that we are expanding to include camping essentials, R/V cleaning and maintenance products and equipment for outdoor activities. We also hope to get a small farmers market started up as well.”
Relic Outfitters carries convenience items and camping essentials, including:
- Firewood and kindling
- Fishing essentials: live bait and tackle – minnows, leeches, and worms
- Rod rentals
- Bug spray
- Cold drinks and snacks
- Coffee and herbal teas
- Pet snacks, collars and leashes, and paw balm
- Maple syrup, chicken and duck eggs, and other farm-fresh products
- R/V cleaning and maintenance products
The shop is open Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm, Saturday 6am to 6pm and Sunday 6am to 2pm.

As the economy is cautiously opening up, Sandy and Bob are happy to finally be able to welcome you into the store. Just look for the little yellow shop on the side of the road. Rest assured that social distancing and attention to cleaning and sanitizing is a top priority for them.
