Cornwall, ON – After a quiet stretch online, Crush Lane is making a confident return to downtown Cornwall with a new boutique space at 15 Urquhart Lane. The shop, known for its fashion-forward jewellery and eclectic style, is reopening with a renewed focus and a fresh energy that reflects both its roots and its evolution.

Founded by certified goldsmith Tarah Zaczyk, Crush Lane began as a student project while she was studying Jewellery Arts at George Brown College in Toronto. Inspired by Rush Lane, a graffiti-covered alley in Queen West, Tarah misheard the name as “Crush Lane” while explaining the assignment to a friend. The name stuck, and shortly after graduating in 2008, she registered Crush Lane as her official jewellery brand.

The boutique offers high-end, affordable jewellery (some handmade in-house) and specializes in custom design services, including engagement rings, wedding bands, and bridal pieces. Beyond jewellery, Crush Lane features a curated selection of vintage clothing, accessories, home décor, and new fashion items.

What sets Crush Lane apart is its distinctive character. The space is designed to be approachable and expressive, with branding, photography, and styling all handled by Tarah herself. The boutique blends nostalgia with trend, offering quality pieces that sit comfortably between costume jewellery and luxury. Many of the faces featured in Crush Lane’s campaigns are local to Cornwall, including the most recent model, Kylie Buchanan.

Tarah brings over 26 years of experience in high-end jewellery sales and design. After a decade working in Toronto, creating pieces for celebrities, stylists, and fashion magazines, she returned to Cornwall with her two children and continued her work locally. Her background also includes fashion and interior design, but jewellery has remained her true passion.

The new location at 15 Urquhart Lane is a restored blacksmith’s building and former horse stable, complete with original wood beams and brick walls. The space offers approximately 1,200 square feet and shares an entrance with Red Rabbit Tattoo, creating a dynamic and creative atmosphere between the two businesses.

Crush Lane plans to operate with one full-time staff member and two to three part-time employees, in addition to Tarah. The business philosophy emphasizes sustainability and the importance of re-loving and repurposing materials, aligning with a broader commitment to eco-conscious practices.

A co-hosted event is planned for early October to celebrate both Red Rabbit Tattoo’s one-year anniversary and Crush Lane’s reopening. More details will be announced soon.

Crush Lane is now open and welcoming visitors to explore its unique blend of jewellery, fashion, and lifestyle. The shop is open Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 5pm and Saturday from 11am to 4pm. Tarah and her team can be reached by email at crushlane@gmail.com.
