Cornwall Ontario – The Black Entrepreneurship Ecosystem (BEE) is dedicated to identifying, supporting, and developing programs and services tailored to assist Black business owners and entrepreneurs in overcoming distinct challenges in the region. BEE has announced the launch of a $500 CAD grant initiative (Promo Power-Up Bonanza Program) aimed at bolstering Black entrepreneurs in South Eastern Ontario. This opportunity has been made possible through a generous $10,000 CAD donation from a distinguished local business owner, with the objective of empowering our members to expand their market presence and enhance sales.
Program Goals
- Market Expansion: Motivate Black-owned enterprises to engage new customers via competitive discounts.
- Client Acquisition: Facilitate entrepreneurs in capturing new clientele through deliberate marketing strategies.
- Sales Growth: Advocate for discount strategies that boost sales and nurture a dynamic business ecosystem.
- Inclusivity and Diversity: Promote a diverse economic environment by supporting Black-owned businesses in reaching a varied clientele.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the grant, businesses must be legally registered within Ontario, specifically operating in the South Eastern Ontario area.
Evaluation Process
Applications must be submitted by March 10, 2024. An external team will assess each submission, focusing on customer acquisition strategies and the execution of promotional campaigns. The top 20 proposals will move forward to the final review stage, with recipients being honoured and grants awarded at the BEE-SEO Awards Night on May 11, 2024. Participation Benefits
Completing the survey serves as the application for the $500 CAD Business Enhancement Grant. Additionally, responses will contribute to BEE-SEO’s strategic planning, aiding in better understanding the needs of Black Entrepreneurs in South Eastern Ontario and shaping future initiatives.
Black Entrepreneurship Ecosystem (BEE) provides a variety of support services aimed to assist black entrepreneurs in business, including workshops, mentorship programs and pitch deck preparation. The organization also manages a black business directory and an extensive library of entrepreneur resources.

The Black Entrepreneurship Ecosystem (BEE) – Southeastern Ontario is a not-for-profit organization that is a resource and acceleration hub for Black owned businesses and early-stage Black entrepreneurship in the region by means of programming services and partnerships designed to help increase their odds of success.
The Kingston Economic Development Corporation has supported the setup and incorporation of the Black Entrepreneurship Ecosystem for Southeastern Ontario, and it continues to support the organization on as needed basis.
