Cornwall, Ontario – All building projects, whether residential or commercial, require architectural design in order to obtain the proper building permits. It is a very specific skillset that is required fairly early in any project.
After seventeen years of experience in both the private and public sectors, Nicholas Leduc has taken the jump into entrepreneurship and opened PGL Design & Drafting, a commercial and residential design & drafting service. Owner, Nicholas Leduc, is a Registered BCIN Architectural Designer with years of combined experience in the private and public sectors.
“Most people will get involved in a construction project at least once in their lifetime, whether it be for a new build or some sort of renovation to an existing building”, said Mr. Leduc. “The design and code requirements in construction can be overwhelming for anyone. PGL’s role is to facilitate the process even beyond the drafting service. We strive to provide guidance throughout the approval process, from permit application to the final inspection.”
PGL opened in January 2020, and although the pandemic did shut down construction projects for a while, the industry is now opened and projects are moving forward.
“The timing was not great to open a new business”, said Mr. Leduc “but I knew that this was what I really wanted to do, so I’ve kept moving forward with determination and a positive outlook.”
PGL services residents and businesses in Cornwall, SD&G, Prescott & Russell and Ottawa. With experience working in the private sector for 11 years in Embrun, Mr. Leduc then moved to the municipal world in order to broaden his experience. After 6 years working in Social Housing and Building & By-Law divisions he has now moved back to design, with his own business.
PGL Design & Drafting is located right here in Cornwall, and can be reached by phone at (343) 475-0350 or online at:
