Cornwall, ON – During this time of uncertainty, this Cornwall business has decided it’s time to build.

InHabit Consulting + Design focuses on making the building process as simple as possible for the client. The new business, owned by Sophie Jean, began operation in early April. She specializes in new home building plans, addition and renovation plans, and project management.

Although her business was recently established, Ms. Jean brings years of experience to her work. Following the completion of her degree at the University of Waterloo in 2004, Ms. Jean held several positions in the engineering field before giving birth to her two young boys. Upon her return to work following her maternity leave, she found it difficult to find the work-life balance everyone seems to be in search of in our fast-paced society. This lack of balance led her to take a step back to begin working on her own business.

“I’ve always had a love for improving spaces and the thought of shifting gears and doing something artistic/architectural just kept on niggling at me. With the support of my husband, I took some time off work to brush up on my computer drafting skills and take building code courses.”

Sophie Jean is a licensed Professional Engineer and registered Designer (BCIN holder) with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (BCIN).

InHabit is located in Cornwall but plans to offer its services from the Quebec border to Kingston, Ontario, just a few hours west on the 401. They can be reached by phone at (613) 577-3967 or online at:
