Cornwall, ON – What started as a bubble tea shop has become so much more. Sip & Scoop continues to add to its menu while interest grows within Cornwall and surrounding area.
Sip & Scoop was started by Jehan Shorish, who at the time was only 19 years old. Fast-forward to today and the young entrepreneur, now 25, has built a following for her bubble tea and tasty food menu.
For those who have yet to try bubble tea, it’s a Taiwanese tea-based drink that can include a variety of flavours paired with toppings known as pearls, which is where the drink gets its ‘bubble’ name from. Popular fruit flavours include strawberry, pomegranate, passion fruit, mango, watermellon, grape, and pinneapple. Other delightful flavours that are now staples on the menu at Sip & Scoop include chocolate, coffee, vanilla and coconut.
In addition to bubble tea, Sip & Scoop offers an extensive menu full of tasty and unique fares. The menu includes waffles and crepes, house-made butter chicken, pretzels, ice cream and fresh fruit smoothies. Her most recent addition to the menu has generated a lot of attention as of late. Customers can now enjoy their very own fire grill at their table. The fire grill is used to toast marshmallows and make smores sandwiches.. Yes, this is real life.
“We have unlimited chocolate fondue, and with this fire grill, you have your own tabletop campfire!” says Ms. Shorish. “Our goal is to continue offering our customers an experience they can’t find anywhere else. Seeing the smiles on our customers’ faces while enjoying the tabletop campfire, tells us we’ve accomplished our goal with this menu item.”
Due to its unique menu offering and continued success, Sip & Scoop has been approached by several entrepreneurs from surrounding cities, interested in franchising the business. Shorish and her father, who is a partner in the business, have recently begun the process of making this a reality. So, you may see Sip & Scoop in neighbouring cities along the 401 in the not-too-distant future.
