Summer Company 2016 Now Open For Application

2015-Summer-Company (1)Having a hard time finding a summer job? Look no further… Summer Company gives students the opportunity to start and run their own business over the summer months, learning valuable skills experiencing entrepreneurship first hand, and earning money at the same time!

The Cornwall Business Enterprise Centre is pleased to announce that applications for Summer Company 2016 are now open!

Funded by the Government of Ontario and administered by the Cornwall Business Enterprise Centre, Summer Company helps students to start and operate their own business through the summer months. Successful candidates receive hands on business training and are matched with mentors to help guide them through the business stages. Each Summer Company participant can receive up to $3,000 to start their business; up to $1,500 for start-up costs and up to $1,500 upon successful completion of the program.

Who is eligible for the Summer Company program? Students between the ages of 15-29, and returning to school in the fall.

Summer Company has been a successful program in the region.  Since 2008, sixty-two students have successfully completed the Summer Company program, gaining valuable entrepreneurship skills in the process.

This year, the Cornwall Business Enterprise Centre has the capacity for 15 participants; therefore interested students are encouraged to visit www.ontario.ca/summercompany for more information regarding eligibility and program requirements and/or to fill out an initial application. Applications will be accepted until May 6th, or when capacity is reached.  The Cornwall Business Enterprise Centre staff are available to assist in completing applications and answering questions.
