Futurpreneur Increases Available Financing for Young Entrepreneurs
In partnership with the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), Futurpreneur has increased their loan offering for aspiring business owners to $60,000, an increase of $15,000 as of June 18, 2019.
Prior to June 18, Futurpreneur had offered up to $45,000 in financing to young entrepreneurs. Working with business owners since 1996, the organization knows that starting a business can be quite a financial burden. The cost of buying equipment, renovating retail space or purchasing inventory can prevent potential businesses from even getting started. The increase from $45,000 to $60,000 is expected to help entrepreneurs get their business off the ground and take it to the next level that much quicker.
“We know that young entrepreneurs often need a substantial amount of support when opening a business,” says Karen Greve Young, Futurpreneur’s CEO. “This loan increase provides aspiring business owners with more financial runway to launch their business. When matched with our mentoring program, entrepreneurs are put in a strong position for success in a highly competitive economy.”
Futurepreneur Canada helps entrepreneurs aged 18-39 to turn their idea into a business with pre-launch coaching, financing, an expert business mentor for up to two years, and resources to help you plan, manage and grow your business.
The organization has played a significant role in the successes of small businesses across Canada since inception in 1996. Some impressive highlights include:
- Helped launch over 10,000 Canadian businesses
- Supported more than 12,000 young business owners
- An average of 5 jobs are created by each business they’ve helped start
- 42% of businesses they’ve supported are majority owned by women
