First Serve for Kids – tennis lessons
Nathan Whalley has had years of experience playing tennis, so starting a summer business offering tennis lessons was a natural progression for this talented high school student.
Having achieved SD&G and EOSSAA championship titles and moving on to compete at OFSSA this past May; his passion for the sport of tennis has translated into the business of teaching children. He is offering private one-on-one and group tennis lessons passing on his knowledge and training techniques to children the age of 12 and under in the Cornwall and SD&G area.
“Tennis is a great game,” explained Nathan. “Of course it provides exercise, but it also teaches a player self- discipline, gives you confidence, and it improves your reaction time. I used to play daily and travelled to Ottawa for practice – not everyone has the option of doing that. I want to bring the opportunity closer for kids in the area, so they don’t have to travel.”
Using public courts for lessons, First Serve for Kids will operate weekdays, evenings, and weekends. Offering affordable prices, flexible hours and locations, as well as providing rackets and tennis balls, this summer training program is perfect for any aspiring tennis player who wants to improve skills, or for those just wanting to try the game out.
